Pointers for Diners
-
Make reservations for Restaurant Week as early as possible, they tend to go fast.
-
Do not make reservations at more than one restaurant for the same meal period, as it prevents others from getting the reservations they want.
-
If you need to cancel your reservation, do so with as much notice as possible so restaurants have the opportunity to rebook the table.
-
No passes, tickets or coupons are required. Instead, diners may simply visit their favorite participating restaurants throughout the week to enjoy the special prix fixe dinner menus. It is strongly recommended that diners make reservations in advance. To make a reservation, diners may contact restaurants directly.
-
Reservations are strongly encouraged, but walk-ins are appreciated. There is no guarantee that walk-in guests will be accommodated.
-
If you're going to be late for you reservation, call and let the restaurant know. On a normal night a restaurant will hold the table for 10 or 15 minutes past reservation time. During Restaurant Week, with a long wait list, they might not be able to, especially if they don't know you're on your way.
Be Patient.
This is a busy time for restaurants so be prepared to wait a little. I spoke to one Restaurant Week restaurant owner who said he sometimes has an issue with turning tables in time for a reservation. If a 5:30 table is still sitting there at 7 o'clock ... well, he's not going to the throw them out of their seats, but that means the 7 o'clock table has to wait a bit longer. That said, diners should be mindful of the number of people waiting and leave the table once their meal is done.
